A celebration of the $21 million that has been raised through The Chris Evert/Raymond James Pro-Celebrity Tennis Classic is set for the weekend of November 21-23 when the event is held for the 25th year.

Since 1989, tennis legend and South Florida philanthropist Chris Evert has hosted the event to combat drug abuse and child neglect in Florida. More than $600,000 was raised in 2013.

Chris Evert Charities partners with the Ounce of Prevention Fund of Florida, a public-private partnership blending state and private dollars and investing them in innovative, community-based programs that give Florida children a chance to live free from the ravages of drug abuse and neglect.

The charity has also funded 38 scholarships that have assisted recipients in attaining college degrees.

Longtime partners Raymond James Financial and Broward Health Chris Evert Children’s Hospital continue to support Evert’s charity through the tennis event. Title sponsor Raymond James is a Florida-based financial services company, while the Children’s Hospital is a family-centered facility providing care for newborns, neonates, children and youth.

The 2014 event will include a Tennis Pro-Am and Classic Cocktail Reception at the Boca Raton Resort & Club (Friday, Nov. 21), followed by Pro-Celebrity Tennis sessions at the Delray Beach Stadium & Tennis Center (Saturday & Sunday, Nov. 22 & 23). The annual Charity Gala, an elegant evening of dinner and dancing that includes live and silent auctions, is scheduled for Saturday evening (Nov. 22) at the Boca Raton Resort & Club.

Evert has annually enlisted the help of celebrity friends who have joined in her fundraising efforts. Last year’s celebrity headliners included Scott Foley (Scandal), Elisabeth Shue (CSI: Crime Scene Investigation), Jon Lovitz (Saturday Night Live) and Gavin Rossdale (British band “Bush”) with Tennis Hall of Famers Martina Navratilova, Pam Shriver and Mats Wilander among the former players who participated in the three-day event.

Other celebrities who have attended in past years include President George H. Bush, Venus and Serena Williams, Joe Torre, Matt Lauer, Chevy Chase and Jimmy Fallon.

Premium seating for the Pro-Celebrity tennis event range in price from $40 to $90. Club seats with seat backs are $40 per day or $70 for the weekend and courtside box seats (rows 1-8) are $90 per day or $175 for the weekend. General admission tickets are $20 per session.

Tickets to the Charity Gala are $750, and sponsorship packages that include ancillary events are also available.
