The 2013 Disney Pro Soccer Classic came to an end last night as Montreal Impact edged the Columbus Crew 1-0 to capture the Championship title at ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex at Walt Disney World. After a slow first half, Impact striker Justin Mapp managed to slip past the Crew’s defense to score Montreal’s game-winning goal in the 54th minute.
In the other consolation games, D.C. United defeated Philadelphia Union 2-0 while Sporting Kansas City’s Claudio Bieler scored the matches’ only goal in the 23rd minute to give his team a 1-0 win over Toronto FC.
Orlando City Soccer Club got its first win on the first ever game against rivals Tampa Bay Rowdies with a 2-0 win. Orlando City’s Jamie Watson scored the matches’ first goal in 20 seconds from a penalty kick and Dennis Chin then added the second goal midway through the second half to seal the deserved win.
