Party For The Senses Wows The Fans at Epcot Food & Wine Festival
Last Saturday we were lucky enough to attend the first Party For The Senses of the season at the Epcot International Food & Wine festival. The event is held in the World Show Place Events Pavilion that is located between Canada and the United Kingdom on World Showcase. The elegant party is perfect for foodies as participants get to sample some great food from famous chefs along with chance to enjoy over 50 varieties of wine and beer.
Apart from the food, the other highlight of the evening is the performance specially created by Cirque du Soleil’s La Nouba. The large pavilion, that houses approximately 750 people, is split into six colored areas and within each of these areas you can find three food stations as well as several beverage stations. There are also two international cheese sections.
The menu this year seemed to be a little more diverse and among the highlights that we sampled were the Roasted Round Trout by Kevin Dundon at the Raglan Road booth, the Lamb Kefta with cucumber raita and naan bread by James Kleinschmidt – Food Trucks, Downtown Disney area and oddly enough, Rock Harper from FatShorty’s Bourbon Braised Bacon Grilled Cheese with Tomat Jam sandwich.
The wine selection this year wasn’t quite as good as in previous years but the Spice Route – Swartland, South Africa selection of chenin blanc, pinotage and “Chakalaka” was simply excellent.
General admission is $145 per person but upgraded experiences are available with a main floor reserved table at $180 per person, and a reserved table in the premium Wine View Lounge at $285 per person. Reserved seats include a specialty cocktail and early admission at 7:15.
