Today is the thirteenth anniversary of the 9/11 terrorist attacks on the United States. It’s a solemn day for so many people and a reminder of the evil side of the world we live in.
2,996 people died that day and many more have passed away since as a result of injuries sustained or diseases they contracted.
Living close to Walt Disney World, as we do, often puts us in a fanciful mind-frame but the events of September 11, 2001 can never be forgotten.
This Summer, at the end of July – start of August, I paid a visit to New York with my family. It was my youngest daughters 21st birthday and her desire was to celebrate in the “Big Apple.”
We did a lot of wonderful things including trips to the theater, a carriage ride around Central Park, a boat ride to take in the Manhattan skyline and get up close with the Statue of Liberty. We also made a trip to the 9/11 Memorial.
All of these things made us realize why we are so lucky to live in America. A place with so much hope despite some of the worst events of modern times happening here. I’ll say no more… the following pictures truly say it all…
