Davis Love III wins Father Son Challenge with son Dru
Fresh from a devastating loss at the Ryder Cup, USA captain Davis Love III got a reminder of what was really important in Orlando this weekend. Together with his son Dru, the Love’s won the Father Son Challenge by a single stroke (23 under) over runners up Larry and Josh Nelson.
After a three-year hiatus, the Father/Son Challenge made its return at the Ritz-Carlton Golf Club with a superb supporting cast. Arnold Palmer and Jack Nicklaus continued their decades old rivalry as they played together yesterday and other golfing greats who have all won major events included Lee Travino, Nick Faldo, Hale Irwin, Bernhard Langer, Steve Elkington, Lanny Wadkins, Fuzzy Zoeller, Sandy Lyle, David Duval, Raymond Floyd, Larry Nelson, Vijay Singh, Fred Funk, Mark O’Meara and Lee Janzen.
