Dine In Theatres at Downtown Disney
One of the things we always try to do on our blog is to bring you some of the different things to do when you’re visiting the Orlando and Central Florida area. One of the things my family has been hoping to do in recent months was to visit the AMC “Dine In Theatre” that opened about this time last year. Up until now there hasn’t been a movie that took our fancy but last night we decided to go and see the new “Men in Black 3” movie. It was a fun experience!
Six theaters in the Downtown Disney AMC complex have undergone the transformation from normal movie theatre to “Dine In” and the experience includes reserved seating, table-top dining, and a personal notification button that can be used to quietly call your server at any time during the movie.
The seats are cosy and there is an extensive menu on offer that includes appetizers, entrees, desserts, movie theater candy, and more. Alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages also are available to accompany your quesadilla, burger, and flatbread pizza!
Your experience starts when you arrive at Downtown Disney and if you’d like to give the Dine-In option a chance you’ll enter the AMC near Planet Hollywood. For the more traditional way of watching a movie then you’ll enter via the entrance at the Cirque du Soleil side of Downtown Disney as the two areas are separated inside. We found this out the hard way as we entered via the Curque du Soleil side and temporarily got lost until someone showed us the right way to go!
Dine-In guests must be at least 18 years old unless accompanied by a parent or guardian and your bill will arrive near the end of the movie. You are free to pay right away or wait until the end of the movie as we did.
Overall, we had a great time. The food was excellent and frankly, was restaurant quality which was something of a surprise. The current price for the “Fork & Screen” package as it is termed is $14 for adults, $13 for senior citizens and $10 for children plus the cost of your food and drink. It’s a really great way to take in a movie and pass some time during a rainy spell in Orlando!
