The Disney Pro Soccer Classic begins its 5th year of competition this Wednesday when MLS sides Columbus Crew and Toronto FC kick off at 1pm. the game will be the first of four games played that day and some 19 games in total.
The competition was originally designed to boost interest in soccer throughout Central Florida and establish the area as a prime training and competition destination for pro soccer clubs. Last year, the event at Disney attracted fans from across the U.S. and Canada and gave them a unique opportunity for an intimate fan experience at the world-class facility.
Local favorites Orlando City Soccer begin their Disney Pro Soccer Classic campaign against the Philadelphia Union at 6pm and this will be a taste of what is to become the Lions home ground for the 2014 season. The club begins its regular season on 22nd March away to Charleston Battery before playing their first regular season USL PRO game against Pittsburgh Riverhounds on 29th March at ESPN Wide World of Sports at Walt Disney World.
