Part of Downtown Disney’s new parking garage opened to the general public this morning.
The garage has five levels with 4,000 spaces and today’s opening will see 1,700 spaces being made available to Downtown Disney visitors. By early December a further 1,300 space will be opened for a total of 3,000.
The facility is the first phase in a series of transportation improvements linked to the expansion of Downtown Disney, which will be renamed Disney Springs in the future.
Construction of the parking garage has been ongoing for several months and visitors have been forced to use the Disney casting building car park and then take a shuttle or trek over the busy Buena Vista Drive to enjoy the Downtown Disney experience.
Disney Springs is due to be completed in 2016.
