ESPN Wide World of Sports at Walt Disney World Gets Ready For Orlando City Soccer 2014 Season

Orlando City Soccer starts its final season as a USLPRO team before their step up to Major League Soccer on Saturday. The Lions will be playing their final season at the ESPN Wide World of Sports facility at Walt Disney World and we decided to head out and take a look at how things are coming together earlier today.

The club takes on Pittsburgh Riverhounds at 7.30pm on Saturday and its expected that a bumper crowd of approximately 5,500 will be in attendance. In order to do that Orlando City Soccer has worked with Disney to ensure more seating is put in place that visitors would have previously seen during the Disney Pro Soccer tournament, held at the same venue recently.

The first thing visitors should notice is the extensive car parking that is available at ESPN Wide World of Sport… it also helps that there is no charge to park, so that leaves more money available to buy snacks, drinks and souvenirs! You might also like to pose for a photo by the entrance feature (pictured above) as you enter the facility.

Once you enter the stadium you’ll notice that each section is marked so finding your seat is pretty easy. Simply find the section number on your ticket and match it up with the signage located on the stadium’s stands. Note, everything is colored purple!

Once you’ve found your seat, you’ll want to take a look around the stadium. If you attended the Disney Pro Soccer tournament recently then you’ll notice quite a few changes. More bleachers have been added behind each goal and more seats have been added on the sides of the pitch.

The most important part of the whole set up is the pitch and it looks to be in fantastic condition. The players will certainly enjoy playing on grass rather than the synthetic surface that their previous home at the Citrus Bowl offered.

The changing rooms are located close to the pitch in the HP Pavilion while the media will be located in the tower in the south corner where they’ll get a great view of the game.

The whole set up is looking superb and with just some last minute safety checks to carry out, everything is set for a great game on Saturday. There are still some tickets available so make sure you check out www.OrlandoCitySoccer.com for details on how you can be part of this final season before MLS soccer comes to Orlando.
