Jordan Spieth (pictured above) retained the lead heading into Saturday at the Hero World Challenge at Isleworth. The day was marred by a rain storm that delayed play for two hours on Friday as both Patrick Reed (pictured below) and Justin Rose made a charge to the top of the leaderboard.

Reed, playing with Tiger Woods in a competitive round for the first time, shot a superb -9, 63 to move into third place while Rose was just one shot behind him on the day as he recorded an excellent 64.

Henrik Stenson (pictured above) carded a second round 68 to add to his first round 67 to stay in second place but for much of the day he was out in the lead on his own. The rain delay spoiled his round as he found it difficult to get going again once play resumed.

Spieth didn’t quite finish his round and returns to the Isleworth course at 10.15am to play his final hole and see if he can extend his lead to three shots over Stenson. After hitting his first two shots on the final hole in virtual darkness, Spieth opted to stop and come back early Saturday morning rather than finish.

With his ball sitting just off the front edge of the green, Spieth told officials he couldn’t see the flag 30 feet ahead of him so he decided to stop.

“It’s a tough chip to get within a few feet anyway, so it didn’t make much sense to try and hit the chip if I really wasn’t going to want to hit the putt anyway,” Spieth said.

Tiger Woods (pictured above) had a better day Friday as he recorded a score of two under and but for a double bogey on the final hole could have expected better reward for his efforts.

Round 3 will begin at 11:15 a.m. Round 3 pairings and tee times will be available after the completion of Round 2.
