On Saturday night SeaWorld Orlando welcomed their 16th born killer whale calf to the family and the 27th killer whale calf in all.
The 7-foot-long, 350-pound baby is the seventh calf for mom Katina, who instinctively assisted the baby whale to the surface for its first breaths moments after birth.
“It’s a terrific day for all of us,” said Kelly Flaherty-Clark, curator of animal training. “Katina is an experienced mom and she appears to be bonding quickly with her baby.”
