This weekend is your final chance to see the Clyde & Seamore “Take Pirate Island” show at SeaWorld Orlando. After 15 years of entertaining hi-jinks the show will come to a close on August 10.

It’s a show that will be missed a great deal in Orlando and probably all over the globe, as virtually everyone that has ever seen it will have some fond memories of the tale of two sea lions taking on a rogue pirate and winning the day. The show has always been a lot of fun. From the pre-show Pirate mime artist (pictured below) through to the sea lions, otters, pacific walrus and hilarious cast, it’s a show that has always entertained no matter how many times you may have seen it.

The last productions will be this Saturday and Sunday.

Saturday’s “Pirate Island” showtimes are 11:15 a.m., 12:45 p.m., 4 p.m. and 5:30 p.m. On Sunday, showtimes are 11:15 a.m., 12:45 p.m. and 5:30 p.m. On both days, there will be shows at 2:15 p.m. reserved for annual passholders only.

“Sea Lions Tonite,” a different show that skewers fellow SeaWorld attractions, will be presented at 8 p.m. both days.  “Tonite” is part of the theme park’s Summer Nights promotion, and Sunday is its final day as well.

Another sea lion show will debut at the park sometime in 2015, SeaWorld officials say but they remain tight lipped about the theme that show will take. Rumor has it that the new show will have a “Back to School” type theme but in the meantime, as we wait to find out exact details, the stadium and set will undergo an extensive rehab.

SeaWorld has 12 sea lions, eight of which perform in the “Pirate Island” show and essentially they pull double duty as they learn the roles of both Clyde and Seamore. Interestingly, Clyde and Seamore, the sea lion duo, are not always the same. In fact, according to SeaWorld’s 20 strong trainers, it’s common that during the 30-minute show, seven to eight different sea lions are used.

It will be a sad day tomorrow as the show comes to an end. Typically SeaWorld shows similar to Clyde and Seamore’s have a two- to three-year run before ending, but Clyde and Seamore was so well-received that it has run for 15 years. The new show is slated to be announced in about two to three months, so please check back on a regular basis as we’ll be sure to bring you all the details of the new show.
