The Miami Dolphins Cheerleaders are in Orlando this weekend as they play host to preliminary and semi-final auditions on May 6 at Hardrive Productions.
The iconic Miami Dolphins Cheerleaders are casting a wide net as they search for new talent to represent one of the most prestigious teams in the National Football League. Three Miami Dolphins Cheerleader representatives, Jamie Quadrozzi, Ariana Aubert and Brooke Nix as well as the FSU Golden Girls coach Brittani Richards, former Dolphins cheerleader and Orlando Magic dancer Tiffany Pearl and renowned dancer David Scott will all be judging the performances of the contestants.
Winter Park’s Miami Dolphins Cheerleader co-captain Etta (pictured above) is also making the trip to her home town for the auditions and we talked to her about the audition process and what it is like to actually join the Miami Dolphins international cheer squad.
“I grew up always watching Dolphins games with my Dad so I auditioned for the team two years ago and I made it my rookie year onto the team” said Etta. “There were about 13 girls in my rookie class so hearing my name and number get called for the first time was almost an indescribable experience, just an overwhelming feeling of relief and excitement just appreciation for all the hard work I put in. Since the moment I made the team it’s really been the best two years of my life. The most important thing for the girls auditioning is being able to put on a good performance for the judges as you only have one minute to dance. There’s so many things that can lead up to that good performance like having fitness and good health as well as eating and drinking correctly. Hitting the field for the first time is when you have that overwhelming feeling and come to realise ‘I made it.'”
This audition is the first of two, with another audition to be held in Miami on June 3.
Participants must be at least 18 years of age by July 10, 2017 and be a high school graduate by June 2017.
