Unlike traditional sporting events or other family entertainment shows, every fan attending a Monster Jam event is given the unique opportunity to meet the stars of the show during the pre-show Party in the Pits and post-show autograph sessions. The stars of Monster Jam will stay until the last autograph is signed. For decades, Monster Jam has been one of the biggest and most successful touring family shows in the world, and it is still showing yearly growth in all areas.

Work to prepare for Saturday’s event will begin on Wednesday 21st January as a crew of eight will works 18-20 hours a day for three straight days to construct the monster truck course inside the Orlando Citrus Bowl.

Field conversion will begin by covering the entire surface of turf at the Orlando Citrus Bowl with a wall-to-wall protective polyurethane product. Each sheet of product is 20’ long, 5’ wide and ¼” thick, and weighs 130 pounds. The work team uses a carpet-pulling device to make a tight seal above the turf. Then the dirt will be added!

It is not uncommon for dump trucks to make more than 200 trips to deliver the 3,500 cubic yards of dirt to the stadium. In Orlando, approximately 300 truckloads of dirt are anticipated to cover the brand new, $3 million+ Orlando Citrus Bowl field turf!

Once the dirt has arrived, workers will then construct the track. First, they lay an 8” thick base. Then, using a computer designed track map they begin sculpting the obstacles in the 230’ wide by 360’ long Orlando Citrus Bowl.

Once the event ends, the dirt move-out process starts immediately. All dirt and field protection product is generally completely removed within 20 hours after the Monster Jam event concludes. Typically, by Sunday evening or Monday morning, the Citrus Bowl’s field is returned to the same condition as it was in prior to the event. Pretty amazing!

Tickets start at $15 and are on sale now at all Ticketmaster outlets, the Citrus Bowl Stadium Box Office, charge by phone at 800-745-3000, or online at www.ticketmaster.com. For more information visit www.monsterjam.com.
