Eighty local celebrities came together with hundreds of fans earlier today at Boardwalk Bowl on Colonial Drive in Orlando to raise money for Rock Pink.
Rock Pink’s mission is to raise breast health awareness and support local breast cancer programs. Today’s event was the seventh time that the event has been run and thousands of dollars have been raised since the event started a few years ago.
The event was a chance for fans to meet their favorite Orlando area celebrity as well as raise money to fight breast cancer. During the two hour bowling session teams competed to win the Monsters celebrity Bowl-A-Rama Championship Belt and there was also a large silent auction that contained many items from the rock n’ roll world as well as other signed celebrity items.
Local television celebrities such as Meredith McDonough (pictured above left), Ybeth Bruzal (pictured above center), Amy Kaufeldt (pictured above right), Michelle Wargo, Amy Sweezey, Bob Frier, Tom Sorrells, Julie Broughton, Jason Brewer and Erik von Ancken were there as were other celeb’s like the host of Monsters in the Morning Real Radio 104.1’s Russ Rollins, musician and singer songwriter Mark Tremonti, Wanzie Executive Producer Michael Wanzie, American baseball trainer and professional wrestler Dale Torborg, rock and roll singer Naome Bradshaw (pictured below with Amy Sweezey) and Orlando attorney Steven Kramer.
Everyone had a great time but the most important thing about the event apart from raising fund to help tackle the deadly disease was to promote the awareness of breast cancer. Breast cancer is second only to lung cancer deaths among women in the United States and every year an estimated 40,000 women die from the terrible disease.
