PNC Father / Son Challenge starts tomorrow in Orlando
A wonderful opportunity for golf fans is in the offering this weekend as many of the legends of the game are in Orlando for the annual PNC Father / Son Challenge.
It’s the chance to see names like Jack Nicklaus (pictured above left with son Jack III), Nick Faldo, Raymond Floyd, Hale Irwin, Bernhard Langer, David Love III, Sandy Lyle, Lee Trevino (pictured above right with son Daniel) and many more tee it up to battle it out for the honor of being the PNC Father / Son Challenge Champions.
The tournament is being held at the Ritz – Carlton Golf Club off John Young Parkway in Orlando and defending champions Stewart and Connor Cink will be going all out to retain the trophy they won last year.
In the past twenty three World Gold Hall of Fame Members have played in the Championship over the 16 years the tournament has been running. The event began in 1995 and ran to 2008 before taking a short sabbatical, returning in 2012. To qualify for the challenge, participants must have won either a major championship or THE PLAYERS Championship in their career. Further, the professional’s partner may not currently hold a Tour card.
Past winners include Davis Love III (21012), Larry Nelson (2004, 2007, 2008), Bernhard Langer (2005, 2006), Hale Irwin (2003), Raymond Floyd (1995, 1996, 1997, 2000, 2001) and Jack Nicklaus (1999)
Gates open on Saturday 13th and Sunday 14th at 7.30am with the first tee times at 8.30am.
