SeaWorld Orlando’s One Ocean Show Reopens

After taking a break for routine maintenance since January, SeaWorld Orlando reopened their One Ocean Shamu show at Shamu Stadium today.

The show was closed for approximately three months as the 40 foot deep main pool was repainted and the clear panels that separate the animals from the audience were replaced

“This is the first time we’ve had to pause shows during stadium maintenance, but it’s also the first time we’ve had to do this kind of maintenance since the stadium opened in 1984,” said Nick Gollattscheck, a spokesman for SeaWorld Orlando.

We were present for the first show of the day, at noon, as a large crowd built up to see the first show in quite some time. The 5,000 seat stadium was packed with Shamu fans who had missed the show and there was hardly a seat to be had. It also seemed a lot of them forgot how wet you actually can get when you sit in the first 15 rows! Never mind, it’s a beautiful day in Central Florida today and they’ll soon dry off!

Other show times today are at 2.00pm and 5pm. If you fancy going tomorrow or on Sunday, you have a choice of shows at 11:30 AM, 1:00 PM, 5:00 PM, 8:30 PM.
