A new resort recently opened near to Walt Disney World and yesterday we paid a visit as The Grove Resort & Spa Orlando officially broke ground on their new Surfari Water Park.

“We are pleased to break ground on the Surfari Water Park,” said Project Director, Kevin Mays. “The water park is the centerpiece of amenities at The Grove, giving families the opportunity to play and escape while never leaving the resort. The Grove combines luxury, location, amenities and affordability for those seeking a vacation home in the most visited destination in the United States.”

The Grove Resort Residences are part of the newest and largest vacation home destination in Central Florida and offer both homeowners and visitors to Orlando a fabulous new destination to sit back and relax.

The Grove opened its 106-acre enclave including The Springs Pools, Lake Austin Waterfront and the Escape Spa on March 10th this year and the destination will operate as a condo hotel. Essentially the Grove now offers vacation home residences that are professionally managed just like a luxury hotel. Private owners purchase the units and can then turn them over to Benchmark, the management company, to maintain and to rent out if they desire.

Guests can rent a one bedroom one bathroom unit from around the $180 per night range through to a three bedroom three bathroom condo at $350 per night depending on time of season. For that they will enjoy a luxury hotel vacation with full use of the facilities that will include, when finished, the new Surfari water park that features a dual Flow Rider® rider surf simulator, an interactive water structure with multiple slides and more than 725 feet (221 meters) of lazy river on approximately seven acres.

Guests visiting now will enjoy a variety of facilities already opened including the area known as The Springs which has three pools as well as an additional areas for water play. One of the highlights is the adult-only pool for a more relaxed retreat.

A popular place to meet will be The Grove’s large-scale grab-and-go, Alfresco Market, which presents a delicious selection of hot and cold self-serve food, gelato and local ice cream, a barista bar, a deli with fresh-cut Boar’s Head meats and made-to- order sandwiches, as well as grocery-style items ideal for stocking the in-room kitchen.
