The I4 Derby is back and tonight Orlando City Soccer and Tampa Bay Rowdies will get the chance to draw first blood in what is sure to be another entertaining two match series.
The last time the clubs met, the goals flowed. Orlando ran out 3-2 winners in both their home game and in the return game at Tampa to take the I4 Cup 6-4 on aggregate. Overall, the clubs have met three times and Tampa has never beaten Orlando. The inaugural match at the 2013 Disney Pro Soccer Classic ended in a 2-0 Orlando win, so tonight, Tampa, will be looking to change that record somewhat.
Orlando will be returning to their ESPN Wide World of Sport home after a successful two game road trip where they beat FC Dallas reserves 3-2 and OKC Energy 2-1 to remain top of the USLPRO league. The Rowdies, meanwhile, have been struggling for some form to the start of their NASL league season having managed two draws and a loss from their opening three games.
Kick off is scheduled for 7.30pm and it promises to be a fabulous evening. Tickets are still available by calling the Orlando City ticket representatives at 1-855-ORL-CITY.
The away leg for the series will take place on Sunday, July 6, at Al Lang Stadium in St. Petersburg, Florida. Tickets for the match in St. Pete. will be available for purchase at a later date.
