Downtown Disney gained another venue earlier today as “The Boathouse” opened.
The restaurant purports to be an upscale, waterfront restaurant featuring steaks, chops, seafood and a raw bar. The BOATHOUSE aims to take diners back to the 30s, 40s and 50s with live music and floating artwork – Captain-piloted Italian water taxis and Amphicars.
Guests can tour the Downtown Disney, soon to be renamed Disney Springs, waterfront on a 20-minute tour in an Amphicars ($100 for up to 3 people). For a more romantic option, guests can climb aboard The Venezia, a 40-foot wooden Italian water taxi or the 1800s antique steamboat Lady Rose; both offer champagne toasts and chocolate-covered strawberries.
The restaurant can seat 600 guests – 400 inside and 200 outside – but all the dining rooms have waterfront views. There are 3 bars, each with a distinct nautical theme.
